The United Kingdom is sounding the alarm after the spread of a dangerous infection that could cause death as a result of eating these famous foods

The problem began last September after eating a contaminated hamburger, which led to many people becoming infected with a bacteria known as Escherichia coli (E. coli), a type of bacteria found naturally in the human body. In the intestines, but there are dangerous types that can be transmitted to humans… contaminated water or food, especially poorly cooked minced meat.

Adults often recover from it, but children and older people are at risk of developing kidney failure due to the infection.

“It is a serious situation that has not yet been brought under control,” said Susan Hillestad, an employee of the British Institute of Public Health.

The Public Health Office stressed the importance of safe food handling and recommended proper cooking of fresh and frozen meat.

British stores withdrew hamburgers and minced meat after discovering the suspected infection, and the epidemic has been spreading since then.

Yesterday, the Institute of Public Health reported that a total of 24 people were infected, including 15 children under the age of 13, and 9 of them were in serious condition, according to information published by the British newspaper Aftonbladet.

The children are currently receiving treatment in hospital for what is known as hemolytic syndrome (HUS), a serious disease that can cause bleeding and kidney failure.

The Office of Public Health notes on its website that the syndrome often requires treatment in the intensive care unit and dialysis.

Blood and kidney diseases usually begin as an intestinal infection, but after a few days lead to nephritis.

Many British authorities are working to contain the infection, amid fears of an increase in the number of unreported cases.

The source of the bacteria was found in hamburgers, but authorities have also recalled other minced meat products containing the same ingredients from stores.

The authorities stressed that it is very important that people follow advice on safe food handling.

“These bacteria die in extreme heat, but they survive in the refrigerator,” Hillestad said. “Therefore, fresh and frozen products must be cooked, and it is important to wash hands and kitchen utensils after handling fresh and frozen meat.”

Symptoms of an E. coli infection often begin with abdominal cramps and diarrhea, and some people experience nausea, vomiting, and fever. After two to three days, the diarrhea may become bloody and usually stops after about a week.

According to the Office of Public Health, HUS can affect people of all ages, especially children under five.

According to the Public Health Act on Infectious Diseases, infections pose a risk to public health and must be controlled.

A university in Britain is planning to accept payment in cryptocurrency for its admission fees

The academic institution, which has an enrollment of about 11,000, said adding cryptocurrency payments is part of a plan to support local businesses like Elrond.

A public university in London has announced that it will allow students to pay their acceptance fees in cryptocurrency.

According to an announcement by the University of Greenwich in London on Wednesday, the university plans to introduce encrypted payment methods to more than 11,000 students starting July.

It is claimed that students will be able to use Elrond (EGLD) to pay admission fees – tuition fees are around $1,000 per year for students – which the university will convert into British leu.

“Our university has and will continue to support the community and local businesses, and the decision to develop a partnership with Elrond is part of this strategy,” said university president Soren Radu.

Starting with the Binance Launchpad IPO in 2019, Elrond has offices in Auckland, a city with a population of over 400,000, and has a team of graduates from several local universities.

The project indicated that it plans to undertake other collaborations with LBUS in the future, including research.

According to the law enacted in July, the purchase of cryptocurrencies with fiat currency and vice versa should now be allowed for currency service providers who wish to operate in the UK.

Many cryptocurrency users who use digital assets to trade in the country must use exchanges that include “know your customer” requirements and comply with domestic and foreign anti-money laundering regulations.

Elrond has undergone major changes recently, including a mainnet exchange last year where the ERD token switched to the EGLD token. At the time of writing, EGLD is at $231, up more than 13% over the past 24 hours.

Outbreak of infection in the United Kingdom

British Public Health witnessed two major outbreaks of infection in 2000 and 2005, both of which were caused by a variety of lettuce infected with the bacteria.

The second time, the source of infection was not determined. 116 were infected. 14 of them had severe symptoms.
